They are posted in alphabetical order, along with the author and a small description of what is taught. Just click on a category, and then on one of the links below to view the tutorial.

Our Tutorial Title pages are designed to be as self-explanatory as possible, but this is difficult within a very limited space, so this introduction includes a brief synopsis of each of the mods in the category.
Changing Existing Items in ‘items.dat’
This a highly specific and easy to follow example tutorial on changing certain aspects of items already existing within the game’s ‘items.dat’ file. It covers three items that have proven to be popular modding items: Weapons, Books, and Potions ( includes Charms ).

A good primer for using hex editing to re-skin models. The “How To” is well covered, along with notes on where and why it can be used to it’s best advantage. Some good visual aids round out this tutorial.
Modding Tutorial No. 1
A really good modding “Quick Start” tutorial which takes you through editing an existing Ruby Ring item, adding a couple magical effects, and saving and testing your creation. Some good visual aids are included.
The Items Tutorial
This tutorial is an excerpt from the “Blank Mod” project. It’s a very comprehensive look at item creation, with solid explanations of item tags, and good examples. Extensive intra-page navigation and detailed tables make it an excellent reference source as well.
Making Monsters
Also part of the “Blank Mod” project, this tutorial offers a detailed look at the ‘monsters.dat’ file, the tags involved in editing monsters, some sound advice on what to change and what to leave alone. Also a good reference for all things monster related.
Modding Guide
This is a very comprehensive guide to modding. Covering the entire process... from *.dat files to artwork. As such, it will be the first tutorial featured in two categories, Coding and Artwork, to ensure people take advantage of both of the strengths of this tutorial.
Spell Modding
Yet another part of the “Blank Mod” project, this compendium spans several chapters and pages while dissecting all the parts that make up spells in Fate. It covers tag explanations, examples of different spell types and an extensive “copy and paste” effect archive.
